Build a pool from scratch

To build a durable, leak-free swimming pool, it is essential to follow the proper process from the very beginning. Each stage ensures that the structure is solid, watertight, and ready for use.

Objective

To obtain a complete system that combines an integral waterproofing admixture, a cementitious coating, the sealing of critical points, and a final coat of paint, ensuring watertightness, durability, and a safe finish for use in swimming pools.

Step-by-step

1. Bedding mortar / wall construction
Lay the bricks and construct the base structure of the swimming pool.

Base mix: 1 part cement : 3 parts sand : water as needed.
Add LEGACRON: 0.25 kg per 25 kg bag of cement.

2. Lime-free render
Apply the render over the entire interior surface of the swimming pool.

Replace lime with LEGACRON (using the same dosage).
Apply LEGALATEX (1 kg/4 m²) as a bonding agent/pore sealer.

3. Render correction
If the render is too absorbent or rough, the surface must be leveled/smoothed.

Apply LEGATOP 400P.

4. Comprehensive Waterproofing
A crucial layer to prevent future leaks.

Apply LEGASEAL 450 to the walls and floor at a total rate of 3 kg/m² (using cross-coats).

5. Sealing of Joints and Pipe Penetrations
Joints at junctions, around pipes, light fixtures, or skimmers must be sealed to prevent localized leaks.
