For the preparation of concrete, additives are increasingly used, in their various varieties since they offer different advantages and allow, among them, to achieve a quick and effective process, which relieves the work and speeds it up.

To understand how these additives work, it is necessary to remember the behavior of water and cement in the concrete mixing and setting process.

The first forms the binding paste as a result of the lubrication of the cement and aggregate particles, after the absorption of water. Then, this paste becomes cementitious, a product of the chemical reaction that takes place between cement and water when setting begins.

In the first of these stages is when the mixing of the components and the first electrochemical reactions between water and cement occur. The characteristics of fresh concrete appear such as workability, docility or consistency.

Hyperplasticizing Liquid Additives: those that are characterized by being compatible with any of the types of cements. They have great fluidizing power, very good consistency maintenance, do not incorporate air and improve mechanical resistance.

Fluidizing additives: It can be used most of the year, that is, in both hot and cold climates. It does not promote corrosion of reinforcement, improves the workability of fresh concrete, and facilitates its mixing. It also improves transportation safety and generates greater mechanical resistance.
In this case the variants are: LEGAMIX N AND LEGAMIX R.

Plasticizing Additives: They are characterized by generating greater homogeneity in the mixture, rapid development of resistance. As for uses, it is used for civil construction and paving. LEGAMIX 220EP is the product.

Accelerator Additives: This type of additive allows slabs to be finished in less time, which is always an advantage, it reduces heating and protects against cold weather. On the other hand, it reduces concrete placement costs.

LEGAMIX A 134NC, LEGAMIX 130 AE
Antifreeze Additive: This type of additive is specially formulated to accelerate working time and increase resistance in cold climates. Plasticizes the concrete. On the other hand, it contains low curing costs. Examples: LEGAMIX ANTIGEL, LEGAMIX ANTIGEL C.

Foaming Additive: Improves and facilitates work thanks to the fact that it allows the rapid formation of concrete, being a material with optimal workability.
